Mr. Charles Edward Brumfield

Mr. Charles Edward Brumfield, 87, of Pawleys Island, SC was called home to be with the Lord on September 22, 2018.

He was born, April 18, 1931 in Huntington, WV and lived the majority of his life on his family farm on Wilson's Creek in Wayne, WV. He was the son of Pearlie Brumfield and Clara (Scaggs) Brumfield. He served his country in the Army 1956-1957. He graduated Wayne High School and received his Master's Degree in English Literature from Marshall University. He taught English at Wayne High School for over 30 years. He was a member and long term Deacon at Wayne Baptist Church and also served as a Deacon at Longwood Baptist Church in Georgetown SC. Throughout his life, he was a devoted follower and servant of Jesus Christ. We are joyous that he is now at home with our Lord.

He was the youngest brother of Evelyn Irby, George Brumfield, and Catherine Wellman. He was the beloved husband of Freda (Booton) Brumfield for 58 years. They had the pride of one son, Dr. Edward Scott Brumfield and daughter-in-law, Dr. Stephanie Myers Brumfield. He enjoyed and loved his 10 grandchildren, Margaret, Grace, Jackson, Olivia, Jefferson, Claire, Joseph, Charlie, Joshua and Catherine.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

A graveside service will be held a 1 PM Friday, September 28, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
