Wilma Graves SUMMERVILLE - Wilma Faye Graves (Altman), beloved mother, grandmother, and pillar of faith, peacefully passed away at her home in Summerville, South Carolina, on September 25, 2023, after bravely battling an extended illness. She was 86 years old. Faye, as she was affectionately known, was born in Williamsburg, South Carolina, and later settled in Murrells Inlet, where she spent several cherished decades before making Summerville her home. Faye's life was a testament to her unwavering faith, and she was renowned for her boundless kindness, which she shared with everyone she encountered. Surrounded by the love of her family, Faye found comfort in the knowledge that she would soon reunite with her late husband, Harold, and three of her nine children: Brenda, Quinton, and Christopher, as well as her cherished grandchild, Shannon, all of whom had embarked on their heavenly journeys before her. Faye is survived by her five loving children: Stephen (Mary) Graves of Cheverly, Maryland; Harold Matthew Graves, Jr. of Florence, South Carolina; Tony Graves of Lenoir, North Carolina; Victor (Linda) Graves of Frederick, Maryland; Shane (Robin) Graves of Summerville, South Carolina; and Sandra Graves of St. Helena Island, South Carolina. She is also survived by her devoted son-in-law, Randy Burgett of Norwood, North Carolina, and her caring daughter-in-law, Leslie Moore of Pawleys Island, South Carolina. Faye leaves behind several siblings: Harriet Cribb of Hemingway, South Carolina; Patricia Thompson of Conyers, North Carolina; Lynn Hickman of Givans, South Carolina; Judy Patterson of Timmonsville, South Carolina; Priscilla Pigate of Timmonsville, South Carolina; and Billy Altman of Lexington, South Carolina. In addition to her children, Faye was blessed with numerous adoring grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, who will forever cherish the love and wisdom she shared with them throughout her life. A funeral mass to celebrate Faye's remarkable life will be held at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Summerville, South Carolina.
