William Morris Obituary

William Morris N. Charleston - William (Bill) Parke Morris, 78, of North Charleston, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 surrounded by his family, after battling cancer for the last 18 months. Born on November 04, 1942 in Oshkosh, WI, he was the son of the late Robert Porter Morris and Mary Alice Ames Morris. William was a veteran of the USAF, where he was a pilot and was honorably discharged as a Captain. He then worked with SSA on the SC State Port Authority. William loved riding his Harley Low Rider and made many memorable trips. After retiring, he gave up the Harley for his '74 Classic Corvette. He loved tinkering with that car and was a member of the Coastal Carolina Corvette Club of Charleston. During those years, he made many friends and created countless memories. William is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ardith T. (Lovell) Morris; two daughters, Theresa Wall and Sabrina Thomas (Jeff Clark); two brothers, Paul (Liz) Morris, Portland, OR and Randy (Terri) Morris, St. Regis Falls, NY; two grandchildren; Walker Wall and Parker Wall; a niece, Lindsay (Rahul); great-niece Samira, three brothers-in-law; Butch, Joey (Nancy), and Mike (Vera) along with many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Creekside Church at 506 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek, SC 29445 on May 15, 2021 at 2 P.M. There will be a gathering after the service in the church Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (Bill's favorite) or any other charity. https://fundraising.stjude.org/site/TR/GiftFunds/GiftFunds?px=7033346&pg=personal&fr_id=39300 Palmettto Cremation Society, North Charleston. Ardith and The Entire Morris Family,
I was truly sadden to hear of Bills passing. You have my heartfelt sympathy. Bill was so upbeat every time we talked. He was a fellow flyer in the C-141 so we had a lot to talk about He even gave me a ride in his 1974 corvette that he was so proud of. He was a good neighbor and always ready to help when you called. Memorial Day was a particularly sad day for me as I think of some of my closest friends who have passed on. The memories of them, some of them sad, but many more of the happy times we have spent together, are very vivid in my mind. Bill will be right there with them. May God bless you and your family knowing that Bill is in good hands.
