ONE OF THE GREATEST GENERATION, SILENT AND STRONG.
He didn't talk about it
His life during the War
But he was a real hero
The kind we all adore
His was a true courage
That kept our country free
He didn't ever brag
He didn't let us see
The horror that he witnessed
We can't even guess
Bill kept it all inside of him
Like others of The Best
He loved his country more than life
He loved his family too
He gave his all many years ago
For freedom for me and you
We are honored to have known him
To look in his smiling eyes
Never to know the sadness of war
This hero kept inside
Today he is our Ga Ga
Grandpa, Father, and Friend
We honor you today, dear Bill
And praise your life at its end
We hope that you can hear us
We will see you there someday
In God's glorious Heaven
Where your sons shouted "hooray!"
"Our Dad is here!", yelled John
As Mac turned to run to them
They met Bill with arms wide open
Ecstatic when they saw him!
They're all fishin' with the Fisherman
Off Heaven's golden shores
Not a care crosses their mind
Never to feel pain anymore
So we honor you today, Bill McKee
And thank you for your life
The love you gave so freely
To friends, family and wife
You are the perfect example of
A real man we applaud today
A gentleman and a hero
We salute you on your way
We will miss you, Bill.....
