William Kirby Obituary

William Dean Kirby GOOSE CREEK - Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of November 11, 2009, William Dean Kirby, widower of Betty Dukes Kirby. Residence, Goose Creek, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service Saturday, November 14, 2009, at the graveside in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 538 Tracy Grove Road, Hendersonville, NC, at two-thirty o'clock. The family will receive friends at the graveside, Saturday, one hour prior to the service. William was born October 26, 1930, in Gaffney, SC, the son of John Albert Kirby and Mary Palmer Kirby. He was a member of New Life Baptist Church, Goose Creek, SC, a VFW Life Member and a member of the Woodmen of the World. William retired from the U.S. Forest Service as a Dorm Supervisor at Schenck Job Corp. He is survived by one daughter, Tina K. Pope and her husband Brent of Hendersonville, NC; two sons, Steven Kirby and his wife Pam of Monument, CO, Duke Kirby of Goose Creek, SC; one sister, Louise Henderson of Gaffney, SC; seven grandchildren, Scotty Kirby, Tisha Kirby, C.J. Owen, Megan Pope, Bradley Owen and Jacob Kirby; one great-grandchild, Carmen Padron; one niece, Kay Gilmore; one nephew, Alfred Guest. He was predeceased by a sister, Ramona Guest and one brother, James A. Kirby. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Charleston, Inc., 676 Wando Park Blvd., Mt.
