My heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Brandenburg and the entire Brandenburg family. I only was just told of Gen Brandenburg's passing. I worked for Gen. Brandenburg when I was on the V Corps Staff. A true gentleman has left us.

Bill and I were good friends in elementary school (Walter Reed, Arlington Virginia). I still remember the day they moved. Several of us came to their house to say farewell. It was a sad day. I wasn’t at all surprised to see that he went to school at the Citadel, served in the military and was a commanding officer. It was in his DNA and I’m sure his father would be proud.

General Bill and I were roommates together at The Citaldel for three semesters. He was a great young man and friend. My last contact was when he was in Iraq. I will forever remember my friend from long ago. RIP

I was greatly disturbed to recently learn of my good friend Bill's passing! I had gone to some lengths to learn of his whereabouts post retirement . Even wrote an e mail thru official channels in Hawaii. Also called over military lines - they must have thought I was some kind of creep! Alas, I never saw or played golf with him after the War College.
Bill and I played and did some very serious work together at Ft Benning, Ga -
yes, I know it is now Ft Moore! He was a great professional and perhaps the most technically competent officer I ever knew. He is missed!
I hope Sybil and Andy will find a way to have peace in their life!

My name is Rob Vail and Billy was my next door neighbor in Dambach Germany in 1966. His father was one of my dad's BN Commanders. Rest in peace Bill, your parents would be proud of what you contributed to the nation.

Billy was my next door neighbor in Dambach Germany. His father was one of my father's BN commanders. A fine family, he lost his mother while we were there and it steeled their family. Tremendous careers, great people, examples we should admire and allow to inspire us. RLTW

MG Brandenburg and I were Citadel schoolmates and it was always nice to see Bill after he retired and moved home. He will be missed in our community. A fine man and American. Praying for his family.

I served under MG Brandenburg in Iraq. I had an ongoing relationship with him. There was not a finer leader of men that I know. Bill was a man of high integrity and was a man I would follow anywhere.
