I would like to thank your family for sharing his struggles. I feel like your family saved some other families the tragedy that you are now suffering. I will pray for your family. We all have or know someone who´s child is or has suffered with addictions.
You don´t know me but I was so touched.

Dear Davis family you don't know me but I saw the notice of your precious son"s passing. I, too, lost my son last January under the same circumstances. I grieve for your pain and I know there is nothing I can say that will help with your hurting. I live it everyday and I just wanted to pass along my sincere and heartfelt condolences. I will pray for you as those prayed for me during this past year and I hope that you can feel comfort in knowing that he is with our Lord and he is healthy, and at peace. God be with you all. Dear Davis Family,
I am so saddened for all of you. Please know that you are in my prayers. When I think of Wes, I think of a very kind, cheerful fifth grader who was always ready and willing to help. It was a pure pleasure to know and teach him each day. My heart goes out to your family. May God hold you close.

I had the joy of teaching Wes in math and coaching him in basketball for a few years. I'll never forget his kindness, thoughtfulness, and eagerness to follow in the way of Jesus by loving others and doing right. We had many talented players on our basketball team my last year in Charleston, but Wes was the defensive star. I'm sure Big Wes remembers this, but Wes played the top of our 1-3-1 half-court trap defense and terrorized the other teams guards haha. He got so many steals and easy layups, that he was our leading scorer several times too... I'm sad to hear of his mental illness and all that came with it, and I hope that amidst the sadness and grief there's some comfort knowing that he is healed and with Jesus now.. Praying for you Davises, that you'll experience the comfort and grace of Jesus as you grieve.

Dear Davis family, I was honored to be Wes's fourth grade teacher. He always brought joy to my heart each day in class The one trait I remember the most about him was what a serving, loving heart he had.
