I am just hearing this sad news today. Trip was one of my best friends from Porter-Gaud. We would talk on a regular basis during college football season. He pulled for Clemson, while I am a loyal Gamecock fan. I will miss Trip very much.

The greatest Godfather my children could ever have. I love you Trip. I will never forget how much you loved my girls. You told me that you felt compelled to introduce yourself and just had a feeling it was something that needed to be done, and you became the best friend I could have ever been blessed with. May God reward you tremendously for the love you gave to my children and for the sacrifices you made for them. I am honored that I could give you the love of children. I am saddened by your early passing, because you will not meet your grand goddaughters and I will not get to talk to you anymore. Get your rest my friend. Please know that you were always loved and appreciated. You gave my children the experience of family, especially when I got sick, and you will live in my heart forever. Love, Rosie

I met Trip 8 years ago and we quickly became friends. For years, we´d have deep discussions about politics, religion, and about life in general. We played DnD together for the last few years and he was always eager to teach me the rules of the game. He was a deep thinker, well read, and highly educated. He was also an amazing friend and a deeply empathetic human being. The world has lost a beautiful light. My condolences to his sister and the rest of his family. ~ Alexis
