Walter Maxner Obituary

Walter Henry "Pete" Maxner SUMMERVILLE - Walter Henry Maxner, 67, of Summerville, South Carolina passed away May 5, 2017 in Summerville, South Carolina. He was born on December 6, 1949 in Augusta, Georgia to the late Walter and Jeanine (Blackwell) Maxner. Pete was a very funny and kind soul. He had a servant's heart and dedicated his life to others. Pete was a firefighter, commercial fisherman, and managed sales of car washes. When he was not working, he played the guitar, enjoyed talking politics and debating with friends. Pete liked to play golf and would teach elementary school children the game. He most enjoyed spending time with his family. The time that he spent with them was precious to him. He will be missed by those he loved and those that loved him. Pete is survived by his wife, Pam Stevens; son, Walter "Chip" Maxner III; daughters, Missy, Victoria, Jillian, Morgan and Christine; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his sisters, Susan Dickey, Becky Flood and Cherrie Carter. He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Natasha Stevens and a sister, Anna Cormiea. The family will receive friends at Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services, 7475 Peppermill Parkway, North Charleston, SC 29418 on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 2 PM.
