Vladimir Sobchuk CHARLESTON - Dr. Vladimir Sobchuk CHARLESTON - Vladimir Sobchuk, 98, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Sunday, September 14, 2025. His Graveside Service will be held September 17, 2025, in Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim Cemetery, Huguenin Avenue, at 2:00 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel. Vladimir was born June 8, 1927, in Podvisoke, Poland, son of Stanislav Sobchuk and Helena Nowosad Sobchuk. He was a loving husband, devoted son, father, grandfather, and a dear friend. He was a talented doctor who cared deeply about his patients and his students. Together with his late wife, Polina, a nurse, they were a team determined to eradicate tuberculoses and shared a deep sense of purpose helping those that are suffering. He loved his family, had a great sense of humor and a deep connection with the natural world. He cultivated bees, loved animals, gardening, fishing, photography, working with his hands. With his passing he is leaving an immense void in the hearts of those that knew and loved him. Vladimir is survived by his daughters, Lyudmila Sobchuk and Jane Levis; son in-law, Henry Levis; grandchildren, Sarra Helen Sobchuk, Rebecca Levis and Sam Levis; cousins Vera Avgustinuk, Marisya Nowosad, Helen Nowosad Drackert. Memorials may be made to Hospice Agapecaregroup.com.
