Virginia Pyle Obituary

Virginia Pyle CHARLESTON - Martha Virginia O'Neill Pyle, 93, of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest on February 6, 2025. Virginia was born on November 5, 1931, to Lawrence and Dorothy O'Neill. She graduated from Avery Normal Institute in 1948 and South Carolina State College in 1952, earning a BA degree in Business Administration. She began her career in the Registrar's Office at South Carolina State College, then moved to Charleston working for West Virginia Pulp and Paper. She then relocated to El Paso, Texas, where she worked at the University of Texas and for the Ysleta Independent School District. Virginia was a faithful member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Morris V. Pyle; her son, Carl A. Williams, II; her parents; her sister, Cornielle (Connie) Chavers; her brothers, Lawrence (Buddy) O'Neill and Rev. Melvin I. O'Neill. Left to mourn her passing are her daughter, Karen Williams Brady (Gerald); granddaughters, Caitlyn Williams-Crook (Jeremy) and Robyn Williams Brown (David); great-grandson, Jaydnn; great-granddaughter, Danielle; siblings Kenneth O'Neill; Lauretta Bumpus; Carolyn Bass; Janice Blair; Marguerite Bresnihan; Anthony B. O'Neill, Sr. (Elonda); Charlotte Gordon; and Lynne Maybank; and a host of beloved nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. The Home Goings Service will take place on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, 10:00 AM at St. Mark Episcopal Church, 16 Thomas Street, Charleston, SC. Following the service, Virginia will be laid to rest with her husband, LTC Morris V. Pyle, at the Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC.
