Eddie Edwards Obituary

Eddie Gene Edwards, age 72, of Moncks Corner, SC, passed away on Monday morning in a Berkeley County hospital. Born on October 19, 1953, he was the beloved son of Ollen Paul Edwards and JoAnn Cain Edwards.

Eddie's faith was central to his life-he was an active member of Holly Hill Baptist Church, where he taught children's church, and he also served as a Bible teacher at Ridge Christian Academy. A proud graduate of Garinger High School, Eddie enjoyed woodworking, building and inventing, and solving challenging problems in his free time. He was known for his warm, friendly nature, his love of meeting new people, and his joy in doing yard work from his scooter. A fan of classic westerns, Eddie never met a stranger and found happiness in connecting with others. He cherished his students, adored his grandchildren, and treasured the love he shared with his wife of 52 years. Above all, Eddie's greatest passion was his faith-he deeply loved the Lord and delighted in studying the Word.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife, Debra Elaine Brafford Edwards; two daughters, Erin Hartman (Joey) of Chesapeake, VA, and Amber Satterfield (Jeremy) of Moncks Corner; a son, Shawn Edwards (Celeana) of Holly Hill; his bonus son, Adam Ray (Morgan) of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Barbara Pate (John) and Sandi Godfrey, both of North Carolina; a brother, Phil Edwards (Rhonda) of North Carolina; six grandchildren; and his faithful dog, Cooper. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Paula Tilley.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at The Ridge Church in Summerville, as announced by Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Holly Hill First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 235, Holly Hill, SC 29059.
