Virginia Morand Obituary

We had the privilege of being neighbors for the last 12 years. How amazing it was to see such a beautiful example of love, honor and respect. We enjoyed seeing Lee and Ginny hand in hand on their nightly strolls through "La Estancia". It just didn't stop with Lee and Ginny though, seeing the whole family come together and surge when storms brought branches and debris. Without hesitation, without question everyone showed up to " get the job done" a mark of wonderful parenting and mutual respect. Really, who could ask for more out of life? We will miss Ginny so much. Her home made bread was a special treat (and didn't last very long) and our cul-de-sac meetings (pre and post storms) and the caring and compassion when we lost other neighbors. Thank you Ginny for showing us what an amazing marriage, parent and friend looks like.

Two days into my Freshman year as a Nursing major at Skidmore College, I met Ginny Murrell. Our adventure began with the amazing realization that Ginny's boyfriend, Lee, a first year cadet at West Point, was a member of the Plebe Soccer Team, and was coached by a very special guy who became my husband! During our four years at Saratoga and New York City, we roomed together, with never a dull moment. We explored the City, cooked our meals on a forbidden hot plate, befriended the "loved and feared" British Residence Director, and to my knowledge, never had an argument.
May we always remember Ginny's energy, her favorite quips, her love for Lee and her Family, and be thankful to have been part of her life.

I first met Lee and Ginny in 2008 when they invited me into their home. in the following years I lost my dear husband and was envious of their walks, bike rides and work on their estate creating a paradise. When Ginny lost Lee, we both cried and years since, she embraced me and my little dog Webster, very concerned about my cancer diagnosis. Then she told me of hers. I am heartbroken that I will never see her again with a glass of wine, manicuring her property and no doubt cultivating her precious memories of Lee and her family. God bless you all.

Oh Mike, Donna and Matt, I was gutted to hear this news. I have such fond memories of your mom´s calm and tenderness. She had a great sense of humor and was always such a good straight man to your dad. My thoughts are with you all. Much love, Katie
