Viola Breland Obituary

Viola L. Breland WALTERBORO - Mrs. Viola LeCates Breland, widow of the late Mr. David Mack Breland died Saturday morning, September 6, 2014, at the Oakwood Health Care Center in Walterboro. She was 82. Mrs. Breland was born June 25, 1932, in Sanford, Delaware and was the daughter of the late Herbert Baxter LeCates and Lenora Polight LeCates. She was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church and retired from Teledyne in Walterboro to care for her husband to whom she was married for over forty-eight years. She was preceded in death by two infant sons, David Mack Breland and David George Breland; four brothers, Herbert John LeCates, Charles Richard LeCates, Edward LeCates, and Robert LeCates; and two sisters, Elizabeth Lenora L. Adkins and Mary Emily L. Millman. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Oakwood Health Care Center, United Hospice of Beaufort, and Dr. Blubaugh for the loving care given to Viola for the past three years. Funeral services will be conducted 11 o'clock Tuesday morning, September 9, 2014, in Black Creek Baptist Church, 4931 Black Creek Road, Walterboro. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service Tuesday morning begenning at 10 o'clock in the church santuary. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be directed in her memory to: Black Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, care of Mrs. Joyce Stynchcomb, 1837 Edward Road, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488.
