Victoria Molony Obituary

Victoria Molony FT. MEYERS, FL - Victoria Anne Molony (Baker) died August 27, 2025, after a long illness. She was 76. Born November 25, 1948, in Corpus Christi, TX, to Fanetta P. Baker (Carter) and Olin E. Nail, Navy Veteran. They moved to Alexandria, Virginia, when she was still young. She graduated from the Academy of Notre Dame Catholic High in Washington, DC, in 1967. She married Daniel R. Molony in June of 1967 and they started a family in Charleston, SC. They had four sons, Daniel R. Molony, Jr. (Tracy) of Omaha, NE, Mark A. Molony (Leila) of Charleston, SC, Paul E. Molony (Stormy) of Columbia, SC, and Patrick K. Molony (Jennifer) of Inman, SC. She had 5 grandchildren, Tyler R. Molony (Whitney), Jake D. Molony, and Tanner M Molony, all of Lakeland, FL, Keelan C. Molony of St. Petersburg, FL, Grace C. Molony of Inman, SC; and one great-grandson, Brooks R. Molony of Lakeland, FL. She had one brother, John Thomas (Tad) Baker (Margaret) of Charleston, SC. She had many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She studied at the College of Charleston and went on to be a Registered Nurse, where she met the love of her life, Thomas C. Orr. Her love of sailing led her to get her International Captains license. She taught sailing at the College of Charleston and was a regular in the Charleston Harbor sailboat racing leagues. She and Thomas loved travelling on the water and sailed to many nursing positions in the travelling nursing corps before settling into Miami and a career in the VA Hospital system. She and Thomas eventually found a home on the water in Ft. Myers, FL, where they continued to work and play until retirement. Vicki made and loved many friends over the years, too many to be listed here, and will be missed by all her friends and family, but especially her sons, grandchildren, and Thomas. She is predeceased by her parents and two sisters, Deborah Lee Baker and Kellie Francis Baker of Charleston, SC. In lieu of flowers, donation may be sent to SAVETHEMANATEE.ORG.
