Valerie Jean Roberts CHARLESTON - Valerie Jean Roberts, 56, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of Bert Roberts, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 26, 2023. Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, March 2, 2023, at St. Andrew's Parish United Methodist Church, 3225 Ashley River Road, at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 1, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy. Valerie was born December 19, 1966, in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Thomas Buckheister Jr. and Rochelle Bolen Buckheister. Jean married her high school sweetheart, Bert, and two years later they had their daughter, Ashley. They welcomed their son, Austin, four years later. Jean and Bert put a high emphasis on family and they loved spending free time on the water in the boat. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. In addition to her husband Bert, Valerie is survived by her daughter, Ashley Harris (Zachery); son, Austin Roberts (Kiley); brother, Thomas "Trey" Sutler Buckheister III (Serena); granddaughter, Hazel Analise Harris; and special nephew who was like a son to her, Steven Beane (Amanda). In addition to her parents, Valerie was preceded in death by her sister, Marla Beane DeVeaux. Memorial donations can be made in Valerie's memory to Hollings Cancer Center.
