I've only just learned of Mr. Green's passing and while I did not have the pleasure of knowing him very well or long, I will always remember him very fondly from my time at SHS...Mr. Green selflessly took time away from work to drive me home from school and back to tend to my security alarm which had suffered a short (I lived a goodly distance from school, so his kind gesture spoke volumes about his character). My thoughts and prayers are with Vondra (a former co-worker of mine) and his loving family. RIP Mr. Green...you were a class act.

To Mrs. Greene, Latasha, Lavondra, and Ms. Nix, you have my deepest sympathy. Mr. Greene taught, and disciplined me at Gregg Intermedaite. When I first met Mr. Greene, I just moved to Ridgeville in 1990 from Miami. The first thing Mr. Greene did was smile and said to me that I better come and hug his neck, because you are my cousin! He welcomed me with opened arms. He was a wonderful person full of joy everytime that I saw him. He will be missed. Just remember that he is going to a home that was NOT made by man, so that he can eat and drink in that land flowing with milk and honey. He will ALWAYS be in my heart. Remember that EVERYTHING will be alright.

There are not many Mr. Greenes in this world. He was my math teacher at Summerville High. He explained math so clearly to all of us and made sure everyone "got" what he was teaching. Teaching was not his job, it was his passion. That was evident in his day-to-day life. The love and respect students felt for him was abundant. He was a class act. May God bless you Mrs. Greene, Natasha, and Vonnie. Know that there are many arms of love around you. Love, Karen

I met Tim in one of the first years of integration in the Summerville schools.
Even as a student, it was clear to me that Tim was a man of great faith with a big heart who loved teaching and cared deeply about his students.
Later he was my administrator at Summerville Intermediate High School - Gregg Campus. I always knew that he would have a smile on his face and words of encouragement for me as a young teacher. Those memories live on in me and all the teachers, students, and parents he worked with over the years.
Mrs. Greene, Tasha, I know the many kindnesses and love he shared with you will live on throughout your lives as well. There is a part of me that can just imagine Tim telling us all the words in this poem below:
Death is nothing at all,
I have only slipped away
into the next room.
I am I,
and you are you;
whatever we were to each other,
that, we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name,
speak to me in the easy way
which you always used,
put no difference in your tone,
wear no forced air
of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we shared together.
Let my name ever be
the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect,
without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all
that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was.
There is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you,
for an interval,
somewhere very near,
just around the corner.
All is well.

Isaiah 40:18-31
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Mr. Greene will always be remembered as a "Smooth Principal"... He disciplined with a smile on his face... Family, we will continue to keep you lifted in prayer.
