Timothy Craig Payne, Sr. Obituary

I was the catcher who stopped his pitches in All Stars, Barnwell, S.C. Summer of 1966, as our Hanahan Team eliminated North Augusta from the tournament after 3 extra innings in a tie breaker. His awe some sinker turned the table.

Mr. Payne was one of my favorite educators I ever had in school. He was loved by many and will be sadly missed.

My sincere condolences to the Payne family. He was a family man and he loved The Fort.

Tim had a wonderful sense of humor and a great story teller. My deepest sympathy-prayers to all.

I was sorry to hear of Tim passing away. My thoughts and prayers go out to Tim’s family and friends. Tim was a high school friend and we played football together. He always had a smile.

The four chairs to a table rule was genius. He actually took time to listen when you needed to talk.

Deepest condolences to Linda Payne, Sally & ME, and the entire Payne the family. Thankful that Tim now rests peacefully in the arms of Jesus. He was a phenomenal educator. He touched so many lives of young people through the years. It was a honor to have worked side by side with him. We admired his work and & sense of humor. He was my principal when I was a student at Fort Dorchester. He was a great principal, and a fair good man. I truly enjoyed my time at Fort because of him. Prayers and condolences to his family. May he RIP.

Tim was a wonderful person and one of the best principals I worked with at Fort Dorchester High School. He helped to make " The Fort" a great school in the Tricounty area.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Tim back in 2000-2001. I remember when he interviewed me for a teaching position. We laughed a lot during that interview, totally putting me at ease for my first real teaching job. I always felt safe under his watch. He always had my back. I have nothing but fond memories of him at Fort Dorchester HS!

Mr. Payne was the first principal I had the honor and privilege of working with. He truly personified what a caring, dedicated principal should be. He was so much fun too and even dressed up for `Miss Ashley Phosphate´! He was the truest Patriot of all and his spirit still lives in this school. Our condolences go out to M.E. and Sally and the rest of the family. We got to know Tim when I kept M.E. and Sally in my home daycare before they started school. My heart goes out to you both.
