Timothy Corey Obituary

COREY, Timothy Entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 30, 2006 Timothy Hudson Corey of Mt. Pleasant, SC. He was born in Union City, TN a son of John Dimitri Corey and Eleanor Hudson Corey on September 16, 1952. Mr. Corey was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Paducah, KY. He was a Technology Specialist with Printing Distribution Specialists. Tim's early passion was radio where his voice was heard on several radio stations in the South. His career path led him into the restaurant business starting out as a waiter and working his way up to Food and Beverage Director, which brought him to Charleston. His love of food and entertaining came from his parents' life-long devotion to the restaurant business. Tim's character was made of so many things that will be missed by all who knew him on earth and know that his soul still lives with us. One of many sources of joy for him was the way he used his beautiful voice. He could be heard in Blessed Sacrament Church Choir followed by The Company Company's Good Time Variety Hour and I'Onissimo Sings!, as well as in the 2001 Footlight Players Production of The Laramie Project. These passions brought song and dance to his soul flowing from his passion and love for music and people. The care he showed for people did not stop with his family and friends; rather, it spread to Blessed Sacrament Church and School where Tim started and led the school's computer club which built one of the library's first computers, taught Sunday school, and helped start Children's Liturgy. His mind and heart overflowed with fascination and an equal passion for technology which Tim used to help the church office under Monsignor McManus. Tim's appreciation for food and its preparation from early on never left him from his parents' restaurants to the catering he did at Lowndes Grove Plantation and everything in between! He loved the kitchen! For those who knew Tim, he would have joked when reading Sunday's paper seeing that he received top billing in the Obit section! We hope you can share in the laughter he would have brought to us now. We thank everyone who he called friend. Our memories of his laughter in your conversations will always be with us. God so loved his son, Tim, he spared him from the death he expected by taking him unexpectedly and quickly. In 2001, Tim wrote: One learns that life is short really means you're dead for a very long time. But we hope you can share in what Tim's son wrote, …my dad's soul will never end. Surviving is a son, Jonathan J. Corey of Mt. Pleasant, a daughter, Andreanna "Annie" Corey of Mt. Pleasant, his mother, Eleanor H. Corey of Paducah, KY, two brothers, Joe Corey of Peroria, IL, and Tony Corey of Greenville, SC and a sister, Ann Wurth of Paducah, KY. The relatives and friends of Timothy H. Corey are invited to attend his Memorial Service at 6:30 PM, Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at the JAMES A. McALISTER CHAPEL, 1620 SAVANNAH HWY. In lieu of flowers please consider a contribution to an education fund to be established for his children. Arrangements by JAMES A. MCALISTER, INC. 766-1365. Tim my friend. You are gone but not forgotten. I feel blessed to have known you and to have had the pleasure of your friendship and sharp sense of humor. You were the best boss anyone could hope to have and I learned so much from you. You were a great teacher and I know that you are now in a better place. You have made an indelible mark on many lives and you will always be fondly remembered. Love...hazel and family

It has been a great journey working with Tim for the past nine years. He was more like family than a co-worker. I am sure all the angels are listening to him sing as this was one of his passions.

I will still carry on with traditions at work with "word of the day" emails and "frozen Boston Market" dinners for lunch. Especially the Apple Pork.

I will miss him dearly. He was a bright spot in my day.

Peace be with the family.

Please accept my condolences for your great loss. Tim and I worked in radio together in Fort Myers, Florida. We became friends and then neighbors and let me tell you, we had lots of fun in the kitchen. Tim was the better cook. For heaven's sake, Tim introduced me to Lemmon Pepper when it was NEW! He was fun to work with and even more fun to cook and hang out with. Those were good times and Tim made them happen.
