This picture of him reminds me of Grandaddy Aull. Such a kind man.

I loved hearing his beautiful Charlestonian accent . I called him a while back and he still called me Carol Leigh. I also remember what a good cook he was. And a true gentleman. He was building a boat when my family and I visited him at his parent´s place in Charleston. My son Kevin lived in Charleston with his cousin Elspeth for a while. He loved it there.

Dear Peggy, I am so sorry to learn of Ballard´s passing. We grew up around the corner together on Rutledge and Ashley Avenues respectively and attended Porter Military Academy and Gaud School as classmates and his dad and my mom shared carpooling duty to Gaud School. Unfortunately, we did not keep up with each other into adulthood, but I´ll always remember him as a fine friend and classmate. I´ll contribute to the Alzheimer´s Association in his memory. Sincerely, George F Geils, Sr.

Ballard Lesemann was a good friend of and supporter of The Village Museum in McClellanville. We at the Museum will truly miss Ballard. We are sad to hear of his passing.
