Teddy's gone but was never and will never be forgotten. I grew up with "Old Man Teddy" and my children grew up with "Rock". He assisted many in their time of need by allowing a line of credit, some acts of kindness we will never know about but he will be acknowledged by his heavenly father , May He rest in Peace.

To Annie and the Foster Family,
We were deeply saddened by the lost of Theodore. We often speak about the days when we lived at 4-D Alway Street and 135 Bogard Street (Back the Green). Theodore will be missed dearly by those that came into contact with him, both near and afar. He was definitely Mister Personality, and you will always be in our prayers. Dee, Babygal, and Bug

Angenita and Shelton, and the Foster family,
I am sorry to read about your father. I have very fond memories of him from visiting the store after school. Also the times he let you use his car and we'd ride around the battery pumping the brakes to the beat of the music! May you all find comfort knowing how many people your father helped and encouraged!

To Neese, Zachary, Nicholas and all the Foster Family,
There is a season for everything--a time to be born, a time to die, a time to plant, a time to harvest. Teddy lived, and now it is time for him to take an extended sleep. May God grant you peace in your time of sorrow and know that weeping endures for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Cast your burdens on the Lord and leave it there.
With sincere sympathy,

To my dearest Foster Family: As many, I too grew up "Back The Green". As his father was called, "Old Man Teddy" ran the neighborhood store. I was the baby-sitter at times for his 2 oldest daughters when he lived on Alway Street. Rock's store was not only the store where I could get credit, but it was also the store that was a hang out for everyone. Not once since I left Charleston(1994), whenever I return to to visit, I always went to see Rock. Growning up "Back The Green", Rock always told me how pretty I was and how I would make any man a good wife.He was always giving me encouraging words of wisdom. He was my "ROCK". As I got older and went away to college, he once told me that I will be successful at whatever I chose to do....Thank-you "ROCK" for seeing the good in me. I loved you then and I love you now. Rest my friend.....you deserve it. I know your father, "Old Man Teddy" is wating on his son.

To the entire Foster family, Both my heart and prayers are with your family in your time of sorrow. When I was a little girl I would beg my Granny to death for a dollar to go to the store and Mr Teddy always made sure that dollar went as far as it could possibly go. Back in the days a dollar was a lot! Mr Foster has left me with many good memories, and for the memories he will live forever for one of God's greatest gifts is the gift of rememberance. May God Bless You All. Sincerely, Africa Nelson Grandaughter of Ms Rosa Lee Nelson "Ms Ya-Ya"

To Annie, Angie, Anita and all the siblings.
Blessings upon each of you. I've known "Rock" all my life. When I was 12, I worked in the store three times a week for a little spending change and a pickled pig feet. I had the pleasure of knowing your grandfather as well. He would be sitting on a chair as soon as you walk in the store. The walkway into the store was full of TV sets he was working on. On Fridays, I would cook them red rice and fried chicken and they could not believe this little girl could cook. Rock and I have kept in touch thru the years. You will see Christmas cards in the store of me and my two sons. Rock, Eddie and Marvin were the boys. William and "Country" would do all the heavy duty stocking of beer and other supplies. That smile will be forever missed. Smile and know that your family provided a lot to the community by being there all these years. He always made a way for those stuggling because he knew there were children behind the struggling parent. I just moved from Atlanta after 24 years and my career has taken me to Minneapolis. I will miss my dear friend and God will get us thru. God bless you all from the depths of my heart.
