Terry Wimberly Obituary

Terry "Teddy" Wimberly HOLLY HILL, SC - Terry Wayne "Teddy" Wimberly, widower of Sally Dantzler Wimberly, 89, of Holly Hill, entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 3, 2025, at his residence surrounded by family. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. David Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be an hour before the service. Teddy was born on January 2, 1936, in St. George, a son of the late Jefferson Davis Wimberly and Catherine Louise McGrew Knight Wimberly. He graduated from St. George High School in 1955 and earned an associate's degree from Trident Technical College. He began as a temporary floor sweeper at the local paper mill and retired after decades as manager of the quality control lab in the chemical division. A faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Teddy was known for his strong work ethic and quiet faith. He served in the South Carolina National Guard and enjoyed gardening. He was predeceased by a daughter, Sherry Wimberly Frazier; son, Terry Edwin (Catherine) Wimberly; siblings, J.D. Wimberly, Catherine Rae Way and Joyce W. Kizer. Surviving are his grandchildren, Christopher Wayne (Janice) Wimberly, Bradley James (Victoria) Wimberly, Chelsea (Grande) Wimberly Fender, Matthew James (Katie) Frazier and Aynsley (Zachary) Honeycutt; great-grandchildren, Rose Alexandria Wimberly, Kinley Grace Wimberly, Kennedy Frazier Kaylie Olivia Wimberly, Lucius Edwin Wimberly, and Lelia Kate Fender; a sister, Delores (Ernest) Jackson; step-brothers, J.L. Knight, Raymond (Dale) Knight and Neville (Marion) Knight; brother-in-law, Charles Kizer. Memorials may be made Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 114 Baptist Drive, St. George, SC 29477.
