Tammy Moore Obituary

Tammy C. Moore MT. PLEASANT - Tammy C Moore, 52, of Mt. Pleasant, SC entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 14, 2015. She was born on Saturday, July 28, 1962 in Lumberton, NC to Mrs. Inez Elizabeth Munn Cothran and Mr. Jimmy Nash Cothran. Jack and Tammy were high school sweethearts and married shortly after. Tammy was a graduate of King's College in Charlotte, NC. Her employment at Two Guys restaurant was an integral part of supporting her husband while he was in college. She was former PTA President at Belle Hall Elementary, served in several human resource positions, including East Bridge Presbyterian, East Cooper Baptist, Seacoast Church, and Tekna Corporation. She was active in Friends of Fort Fisher in Wilmington, NC, and a member of Seacoast Christian Community Church. She had a special eye for creative design and enjoyed helping others with special occasions. She especially enjoyed creating her daughter Courtney's wedding invitations. Tammy was a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers and the NC State Wolfpack, a NASCAR fan (but only when an Earnhardt was winning), enjoyed cooking her Grandma Cothran's recipes and passing them on to her daughters, loved watching John Wayne Westerns, and spending time with her family. She longed to serve others in their time of need. Her laugh and smile were contagious, and whenever she entered a room, it immediately lit up. She will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, and friend. Above all other accomplishments, care and love for her family were her life. She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Jack K. Moore of Mount Pleasant, SC; her parents, Jimmy Nash Cothran and Inez Elizabeth Munn Cothran; two daughters,Courtney Moore Coleman (husband, Justin), of Salem, SC and Calley Elizabeth Moore, of Mount Pleasant, SC; one grandbaby expected in August 2015; and one sister, Teresa Pike, of Lenoir, NC, and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at Seacoast Christian Community Church on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Ernest Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to Front Range Christian Church, 333 Perry Street, Ste. 212, Castle Rock, CO 80104. Expressions of sympathy may be viewed or submitted online at www.McAlister-Smith.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to McALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, MT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1520 RIFLE RANGE ROAD, MT PLEASANT, SC (843) 884-3833. I have known Tammy for many years through our mutual participation in the NACBA (National Association of Church Business Administration). She was working for East Bridge Presbyterian and I at East Cooper Baptist Church. Thankfully an opening came available here at East Cooper Baptist Church and Tammy joined our staff. I enjoyed working with Tammy. She did her work with excellence and unto the Lord. She always spoke so highly of her family and was a joy to have in our office. I was so surprised to learn of her death, and grief for Jack and the girls. Philippians 1:3-6 comes to mind as I think of our friendship and partnering in ministry. "I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
In Tammy's case the day of Christ Jesus came much earlier than any of us expected. She is now experiencing what Paul wrote about in 1 Corinthians 2:9 - which I will paraphrase. Eyes have not seen, our ears have not hear, not has it even been imagined what God has in store for those who love Him. Meaning - heaven is more beautiful, more melodious and more grand that anything we have seen on earth or (which blows my mind) could ever conceive in our minds. Paul said, "To live is Christ and to die is GAIN." Though we grieve, Tammy is wonderfully loved and experiencing the joy of her salvation. She is gloriously happy!

To the Moore Family, My thoughts and prayers are with you. My relationship with Tammy was a working one. I had the pleasure of being in contact with her almost every week via emails. I work in the accounting dept at Alternative Staffing. We exchanged thoughts of the day and had on several occasions tried to make plans to meet after work. I am sadden by the fact that I never got to meet her in person. She was joy to work with and I will truly miss see her emails pop up. Tammy you will be missed my friend but I have faith that I will get to me you one day. God Bless, Ms Jerry Steinbronn

Dear Jack and Courtney and Calley,
I am shocked and sad. What a treat it was for me to bump into Tammy at church or elsewhere. I usually didn't see her first. I'd feel a tap on my shoulder, and then I'd get a Tammy hug! I loved to laugh with her. I loved her. I am blessed that she called me friend. I have prayed for y'all many times since I learned the news. I'm sad for us and for y'all, not for her. Her faith has become sight!!
