Has it been 11 years already?
Tammy was my "first love". We met in homeroom at Brentwood Middle School in the 7th grade. Mrs. Olson, told each of us that we "liked" each other.
I still remember, you were my first date and later my first kiss. I remember seeing "The Princess Bride", "Rain Man" and countless other movies. I remember going to your church one night. I forgot my Bible, but I had a pocket New Testament. I had to share your Bible when the preacher told us to turn to the book of Genesis.
Tammy, I will see you in your Glory one day.

I had a brief encounter with your wonderful family at the Hospice Center. She was my patient and I was her nurse, the day that Jesus called her home. What a special bond you have with her. And what an inspiration you are to those of us who care for loved ones or patients every day. Your heavenly mansion will be grand and Tammy will "run" across heaven to greet you. Please accept my sympathy and thank you for the inspiration that you gave to me.

Mr. and Mrs. Grooms,

I just found out tonight(Saturday) about the passing of Tammy on Monday. When I heard about it, my heart sunk and I just wanted to cry. I feel really about not having kept in contact with her in recent years. My heart goes out to you, but I know she is with the Lord now. She was like a friend to everyone, and she always had a kind word to say. I am thankful for the friendship we had as well over the 20+ years we had. If there is anything I can do, please feel free to let me know. Thanks.

Julia Anne and Henry,

Our love and prayers are with you. Tammy was an angel that was sent by God to bless you and everyone she met. She lit up a room with her smile and affection.

She was so lucky to have you as parents - you were the best. You gave her many fond memories and adventures to cherish and in return she loved you dearly. I'll remember all the good times we shared.

Now, I imagine Tammy is dancing in Heaven and smiling down on you, saying don't be sad.

May God comfort you during this difficult time.

Sometimes I wonder what I missed.
Tammy, I remember looking at you from across the asile in Mr. C's homeroom class at Brentwood. I remember telling Mrs. Olson that I liked you. I remember Mrs. Olson working to get this young couple together. When I saw your obituary notice on the same day as the funeral, I had to leave work. I had to say good bye to you one more time.

For the rest of you, Tammy was my first love. We both told Bonnie Olson [sorry if using your name bothers you Mrs. Olson] that we liked each other, she made sure that we got together.

We grew apart and eventually went our seperate ways.

Tammy, I know that I may have missed something very special there, but I'm just glad we had what we did. Be strong now, and run around Heaven my sweet.

I have fond memories of being in youth group with Tammy at Holmes Avenue Baptist. The news was sad to hear, but I hope everyone can be comforted by the fact that she is in heaven now, where we will all be together again eventually. God rest her soul and God bless Henry & Julia for raising such a wonderful woman!

Julia Ann and Henry:
Words cannot express the sorrow that you must be feeling, but I can't help but feel joy through the sorrow that Tammy is finally walking and running like she so often spoke of since I have known her. I have always felt that Tammy was one of God's special angels He sent to earth to bless every life she came into contact with. He has now called her home and is telling her "well done, my good and faithful servant". I love you both and you will be in my prayers.

It's been years since I've seen you but remember that when we were living just a couple of doors down (at 1333 Maxwell) how Andy and Susan enjoyed playing with Tammy. Her courage and "can do" attitude always amazed me. Kudos to both of you for not letting anything hinder her moving on with her life. It was very difficult at times, I know, to make her into a responsible adult and not allow her to dwell on what she could not do. I admire both of you so much for the way you handled that. I'm sure she turned into as delightful a young woman as she was a child. Love to both of you and please know that you are in our prayers.

All our love and prayers are with you at this time. It was our honor to have known Tammy. She brought such joy and love to everyone that met her. It just seems like it was yesterday that we were all at the hospital waiting for that little bundle of joy. God blessed her too with wonderful parents as you have been.
