Suzanne Spencer Ballard BEAUFORT, SC - Suzanne Spencer Ballard, 75, of Beaufort, South Carolina died at home on June 9th, 2011. Suzanne is the daughter of the late Lamont and Frances Spencer. She was born on November 27, 1935 in Meridian, MS. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, William G. Ballard, Sr. One son William G. Ballard, Jr. of Bogota, Colombia; three daughters, Frances Peters of Columbia, SC; Laura Pruett (KW) of Beaufort, SC; Elizabeth Mackey (Kelly) of Watkinsville, GA; one sister, Mary Jane Stephens (Bill) of Edmond Oklahoma; six grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Suzanne was a long-time active member of the First Baptist Church of Walterboro, and more recently of The Baptist Church of Beaufort. Her interests included reading, cross-stitching, playing the piano, and the Atlanta Braves. A visitation will be held on Sunday evening June 12, 2011 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Copeland Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday afternoon June 13, 2011 at The Baptist Church of Beaufort in Beaufort, SC, with burial to follow at 2:00 p.m. at The Beaufort National Cemetery In lieu of flowers the family wishes that donations be made to the following organizations.
