Shirley Nettles Obituary

Shirley H. Nettles CHARLESTON - Shirley H. Nettles met her heavenly Father on April 14, 2017. She was 85 years old and a resident of Charleston, SC. Predeceased by her daughter, Jettie Griffin and her son, Chuck Nettles; her longtime love, Heyward Dalton; two brothers, Francis Hamlin and Jason Hamlin; five sisters, Edna Williams, Roxie McClure, Avis Mosley, Joan Wilson and Nina Parker. Survived by two sisters, Georgia Rubens of Des Plaines, IL and Barbara Jacobs of Hanahan, SC. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She lived a full life, loved to travel and in her younger years, she flew airplanes, she modeled and hosted a TV fashion show, and was the longtime proprietor of the Brentwood Supper Club in Charleston. But her true love was children, and taking care of other people including their children . She will be truly missed by her family and friends. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 1 pm at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, with entombment to follow at the Carolina Memorial Park at 2 pm.
