Barbara and I can still remember her talking about her precious Shawn and Sherise. He promised to never leave us nor forsake us, trust in him always. Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted.

Ms. Barbara, even in your deepest moment of sorrow, please continue to praise the Lord and know that our almighty God is all knowing and must have taken/chosen Shawn to protect us and help continue to fight the battle.

Sorry for you lost to the porter family. Shawn was a very nice person he would always wave when we come thur the neighborhood. Shawn and i live on the same street a few blocks away 833. He will deeply be miss.

I am truly sorry to hear about Shawn's passing. I was shocked when my father called and told me the news. Just remember that earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. As everyone else has stated, Shawn was a very respectful young man...always saying yes sir or no ma'am. He was a quiet person, but like I always told him, he had that deep command voice. God bless all of you and I will keep you in my prayers

I knew Shawn from school and ponderosa neighborhood. We live right behind each other. I and Shawn became real close in the last couple of months. We gave each other friendship and comfort. I am so shocked about what happened. Because every day Shawn called me. And even though he was not a long talker every time we talked he left a smile on my face. Shawn would come visit me all the time. Shawn and I had so many plans for the future. And even though he is gone I know that he is in a better place. To the family, you all maybe wonder why? But god had his plan for Shawn. And I know god choose the most kind and caring person that I know. Don’t worry look to the hills. I love you and I am going to miss you Shawn. And I know that you’re my guardian angel. Rest in peace.

Barbara, Benny and Sherise our hearts goes out to you all we've been in this same heart breaking experience about five months ago and we know........ what your going through. On Friday 10/31 this hit close to home for us as we remembered our son Calvin T Gibbs passing on 5/31.
We know that your hearts are truley broken but, remember the good times that you all had with Shawn. We will keep you in our prayers, also ask that you keep us in yours.
Remember what I told you on Friday, don't hold it in let it out when ever you have to. I will be their for you if you should need to talk.

Shawn was cool in our school days. Even though he was kind of quiet, he still had a lot of friends. Its sad to see our generation not being able to live on and be good parents and grandparents. Shawn you will be truly missed.
