Sharon was one of my dear friends from College Prep where we went to high school together Our fathers were both retired military and avid jazz musicians who jammed together often. We both entered the Navy after college, and stayed in touch afterward. I felt a genuine kinship with her. She was so gracious when my parents passed away in 2003, offering assistance as we handled the details of their memorial services while away from our own lives back in Washington DC. I will remember her as a wonderful person, devoted friend, and in full possession of a servant's heart. I offer my deep condolences to her family during this difficult period and in the year's ahead as they grow to live without her in the world.

Very sorry to hear this. I just found out today. I worked with Sharon a while back with the PHP program. She was always upbeat and nice.

Sharon Harper was a delightful intelligent perceptive nurse and friend. I have known Sharon since 1988. She was the consummate young nurse, sympathetic, empathetic, yet firm and decisive with her patients. Over the many years since I first met her I have been pleased to have given her recommendations for a number of jobs. And I was always pleased to tell the prospective employers but I would have her working with me are for me in a minute. But she was way more than just a good worker. She was a good person through and through. I last spoke with her about 6 months about a job reference. I never heard any indications of dissatisfaction or sadness when speaking with her. I wish I had been smart or perceptive enough to pick that up. To perhaps prevent a tragedy like this. I will always remember her with love. REAR Admiral Bill McDaniel
