Dear Jim and Hardesty Family -
I am so terribly sad at the loss of Shann. She was an incredible spirit and a dear friend. I regret that time separated us as it did, but I will always remember her as a very dear and special friend. My love to you all, Wendi Kreps

Dear Hardesty family. I would like to express my deepest sympathies for your loss. It has been many years since I saw Shann, but I it seems like such a short time ago that we were kids playing from morning to night. Shann was such a great childhood friend and I have nothing but the fondest memories of spending time with her, fella and the family. I never got a chance to meet Shann's family, but from the cards and letter's she sent my parents they seemed extremely happy. My thoughts and prayers go out to you. Love, Andrew.

Dear Jim, Isabella, William and family~
I was so saddened to read about Shann. I knew her through the kids (and occasional parties I would see her at) and absolutley loved talking with her. She was such a warm spirit, shining brightly...always. As I just lost my mom three weeks ago, I understand how hard loss is. You have incredible memories and, eventually, that will help with your pain. Shann was very special and I wish all of you peace and love during this difficult time.

Dear Cocco and Hardesty Family: It was just a normal day and morning when I was reading the newspaper when something caught my eye. I noticed "The heart of Sullivan's Island" and I just had to read about Shann. The comments about her inner and outer beauty, spirit and devotion to her children was extraordinary. I wish I could have known her. She has left and tremendous legacy for her children and family. I was moved about how many times people said Shann "brightened my day." She must have been a wonderful person. I can see that she was a rare find. To all of her family, I am truly sorry for your loss. I know that your pain is raw and I hope that you find comfort soon. I know that Shann is in a better place. The whole community is praying for you and your family. To Isabella and William: You had a special mom. I can tell. She will be missed by all. No words can truly express our sorrow for Jim, Isabella and William. Shann will live on in their hearts and so many stories and memories will be told in the years to come.... Shann will be fondly remembered.

Shann and I crossed paths through a mutual friend who bubbled over whenever talking about her "fantastic friend" in Sullivan's Island. We met when she came to Chicago for a visit with her friend Samantha and I remember being struck by her smile, her laughter, her warmth, her sense of style, and her generosity. Shann just kind of sparkled. I was lucky enough to visit her down south a few months later and got to meet her adorable, fun, happy family.
I feel lucky to have known them and her. My heart goes out to her entire family.

I haven’t seen Shann in years but I can hear her beautiful, energetic voice like we talked yesterday and I can’t help but smile as I reflect on our time together in the early ‘90s. Shann’s enthusiasm for life was infectious and her smile, both then and now, eternal. My deepest sympathies to the Rocco family.

Shann's smile and personality, brought everyone who knew her together as friends. Her legacy will be the relationships she helped bond, and her smile, which is etched in all of our memories. She will be missed, and her family will be cherished as we pass on to them the love we have and will always have for her.

Shann,with her beautiful smile,was a daily ray of sunshine when she dropped her precious children, William and Isabella at school. It was a pleasure to know such a loving, hands on Mom. Her children meant the world to her and she gave them a wonderful foundation. She will be sorely missed. Our prayers are with your family.

Shann's physical and inner beauty radiated; her warmth and kindness so considerate to all; her creativity sharp and determined and her zeal for life was so generous to all who knew her. My deepest heartfelt sympathy goes to her family and friends. Her beautiful spirit will always live on through her children. Thank you for touching our lives Shann.

We met her in a fleeting moment,as new kindergarten parents. We chatted with her on a bench, while we watched our children play. We got to know her in many different ways, unfortunately we lost a new friend just the other day. For those of you that believe God had other plans for Shann, find peace. And for all of us that will miss her kind touch, enormous heart and neverending smile, we shall celebrate her life every single day.
