Scott Sherrill Obituary

Scott Alden Sherrill CHARLESTON - Scott Alden Sherrill, 81, of Charleston, SC, passed away Friday, September 2, 2022. Scott was born in Concord, NC on August 25,1941, the son of the late Alden Anderson Sherrill and Mary Christenberry Sherrill of Landis, NC. Scott graduated from Landis High in 1959. He attended Lenior Rhyne University, then enlisted in the Army, where he served one year in Korea. He then graduated from Pfeffer College. He taught and coached at East Rowan High School. In 1972, he received his Master's degree in School Administration. Scott married Carol Lee Barr in 1972 and moved to Charleston, SC, where Scott was hired as Assistant Principal at James Island Middle School. He later served as Principal at Morningside Middle and Remount Road Elementary School. Scott is survived by his wife, Lee of 50 years, his daughter, Amy Sherrill Campbell (Dr. Julian H. Campbell); and son, Alden Adams Sherrill; grandchildren, Madilynn and William Campbell; Brody and Bryana Sherrill. A graveside service will be held at Carolina Memorial Park, Concord, NC on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 2pm.
