Sara you will always be remembered for being the mother I had lost decades ago and teaching me how to can tomatoes. The fun Bobby and I had having lunch at your home. You were loved by everyone and will live in our hearts for eternity.

Sara was the kindest person, yet hard working and passionate about providing quality care to children who are victims of maltreatment. She was an inspiration to so many physicians, medical students and residents who had the pleasure to work with her. I will always be grateful to her for her advice and support during my time at MUSC.

Sallie was my inspiration to become a doctor. Naturally, I asked her to write my letter of recommendation to medical school, which she gladly did, despite a million other commitments. I feel like a little light has left this world.

Oh, my Sally! You were my everything! I can't image my life without you in it. Thank you for being my best friend, my second mother, my mentor, and sometimes, my psychiatrist! I will pray for all of you. Love, Karen and Walter Blasko. We love you!

To the family, , My deepest sympathy in the list of your dear mother. I remember her (and some of you) from her time on the Board of Trustees at Mason Prep School. She contributed greatly to it's success as a private elementary school. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Admiringly, the human spirit was strengthened, to be in Dr. Sallie's presence , observing such an accomplished individual interacting comfortably, while making everyone, in an eclectic gathering, feel comfortable as well. Sallie and Fred, opened their home, serving as hosts, on many occasions, to spirited and enjoyable Book Club meetings. Wonderful memories!

Dr Sara Shuh was a legend in the pediatric world. She was known for her love of children and her devotion to their needs and medical care. She was a role model for residents and attendings alike.
She was gentle and loving toward patients and families.
I often saw her take the time to hold and kiss hospitalized babies.
The world was a better place because of her

I go back 66 years to when I last saw Sallie in the spring of 1956. Our homes were blocks apart in Bronxville, NY. We met at a college group Bible study there and became best friends. Sally was a student at Vassar and I was at Lafayette in Easton, PA. I'm sure our car tire tracks between the colleges are still imprinted on the roads between. She was the "Belle of the Ball" at social events in at Lafayette and my Kappa Sigma fraternity. She wore my KS pin.
We parted in 1956, heading onto separate roads: Sally to be a medical doctor and I to be a Presbyterian pastor. No contacts as we both found and married God's choices for us, both weddings only two months apart in the summer of 1958. My Shirley died four years ago. And now my new friend, Dr. Fred, family, and I share the same painful sorrow. But thank God we can recall the best and finest of remembrances of two terrific wives (just one each for over 60 years). I found and texted with Sallie and Fred this summer until just a few days ago. I'll be with you all in Spirit and tears on Dec. 10th.

I lost an "adopted" mom. Sara taught me how to can tomatoes at her home. I got married February 26, 2022. She gave me a knitted double blanket for a wedding present. Several times my husband and I have had lunch either at their house or mine. Prior to the spread of Covid-19, I always looked forward to the book club meetings she had at her home. Sara will always be remembered.

Where do I begin??? To the great Dr. S. Schuh's family...my thoughts and prayers are with you all!!! My mind ran across Dr. Schuh about two weeks ago very heavily. When I saw the picture within the newspaper, I had to instantly look at the name, and the disbelief! I had the honor of working with Dr. Schuh at The Dee Norton's Lowcountry Center, and what a joy and great experience to learn and see her interaction with the children and families! I looked forward each year for "The Sara Schuh Conference." It was an educational experience to attend different seminars that provided guidance for children and the professionals that wanted to gain knowledge from Dr. Schuh. To see/hear her speak at the conferences were amazing! She spoke a lot about her children, and the love of her life..Dr./Mr. Fred. And I can't forget about the high heeled shoes, in which I would often see how in the world she made it so easy to walk in!!!! She made me a beautiful crotched scarf that I wear every winter as she did that within the center. I can't forget the times that would reassure me that the home physician was a good care team member for my late mother. I can go on and on about Dr. Schuh and her Chrysler convertible car...she drove it too! Now her work here is completed! She has a new robe, new address and new shoes! Dr. Sara E.D. Schuh, I will NEVER forget you!!! Take your rest...Amen!

Sara´s picture holding an infant just about says it all. She was dedicated to her little patients and greatly impacted and supported this community with her role, along with Dee Norton, in establishing the Children´s Center. Sara was brilliant and caring and she will be missed. Rest in peace, Sara

I had the privilege of working with Dr. Schuh at the Dee Norton Child Advocacy Center and she was always very inspiring to our entire agency and community. The way she stood up for children's best interests and ensured their medical needs were being met was astounding. The entire Dee Norton staff sends their condolences to the family!

I was saddened to hear of Sally's passing. Condolences to the entire surviving family during this difficult holiday season. I particularly wanted to express my sympathies to Fred who served as a mentor to me for so many years during my surgical training and afterwards. I cherished our friendship and felt honored to know both Fred and Sally.
