Sandra Mackey CHARLESTON - Sandra Faye Mackey, 69, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023. Born on June 26, 1953 in Georgetown, SC, the daughter of the late Bertha (Smith) Martin and Paul Martin. Sandra was a member of James Island Baptist Church. She loved shopping, going to the beach and the mountains. She loved her family more than anything, including her beloved dogs, Toby and Cooper and her many Grand dogs. Sandra retired from University Medical Associates in Charleston, SC. Sandra is survived by her son, Edward Mackey III of Cottageville, SC, two daughters, Angela Mackey Clyde (Patrick) of Ladson, SC and Patience Evans (Wayne) of Reidsville NC, two grandchildren, Kathryn Henggeler (Jay) of Eugene OR and James Matthews, III of Columbia SC sister, Kathy Merritt (Davis) of Ladson SC, brother-in-law, Robbie LaRue Wilson of Goose Creek, SC and numerous nieces and nephews. Sandra was predeceased by her husband, Edward E Mackey, Jr. of 49 years, son, Michael Paul Mackey and sister, Vera Nell Wilson. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 13, 2023 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation, 347 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 11:00 am at James Island Baptist Church, 2023 Wappoo Drive, Charleston, SC 29412 Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406.
