Sally Hummel Obituary

Sally Ann Hummel, age 79, of Quincy, died at 4:05 p.m., on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at her residence.

She was born on April 27, 1928, in Quincy, the daughter of the late Roy and Magdelene Holtschlag Pohlman.

She married Carl H. Hummel on April 30, 1955, in Quincy. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1990.

She is survived by four sons, John, and wife Cinda, Hummel of Quincy, Dave, and wife Lynn, Hummel, of Quincy, Steve, and his wife Dorothy, Hummel of Edwardsville, and Mark Hummel of Quincy; a daughter: Anne, and husband Steve, Taylor, Mo.; 10 grandchildren: Ellen, Peter, and Claire Hummel of Quincy, Elizabeth, Michael and Andrew Hummel of Quincy, Ted and Kate Hummel of Edwardsville, Ben, and wife Sarah, Runser of Florissant, Mo.; a sister: Winnie Niehaus of Jacksonville; and a brother: Pete Pohlman of Quincy.

Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a brother: William Pohlman.

Visitation will be on Thursday, Feb. 21, at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home in Quincy.

Funeral services will be on Friday, Feb. 22, at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church with Kurt Hartrich, O.F.M., officiating.

Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Blessing Foundation for Hospice in her name.

Hansen-Spear Funeral Directors in Quincy is in charge of arrangements.
