Ruth was a faithful prayer warrior! I first met Alvin and Ruth at the church as I was preparing to join the Navigators as a missionary in 2004. I visited Ruth in her home in 2016 to provide her with an in-person ministry update. I was blessed to have her pray for our ministry that day and for all of these years. God listened to her prayers and blessed the work of our hands. We miss her Prayer Warrior prayers!

Grateful to serve Jesus with her,

I have such fond memories of Dr. Ruth while growing up living behind them. Me, Patsy and Charlotte were great friends and Dr. Ruth was a sweet, sweet lady. She started attending John Wesley UMC when she and Mr. Shull were together. Whenever I attended while visiting my parents she would make a point to find me and hug me as hard as she could! The bonds formed so many years ago never faded. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

We will miss walking by Doctor Ruth's door many times during the day. We were fortunate to have spent time with a wonderful and special lady. Our times of sharing the movies in the theater at The Crossings West Ashley will always remain in our hearts.

Oh how I will miss not being able to call Charlotte to ask her to tell Grandma Ruth to pray for something- cause that's what she did- she was a Prayer Warrior! She was a Saint who loved her Savior deeply! I will miss this sweet Angel so much already!

Charlotte and Patsy,
I am so sorry to heat about your Mom passing. I was always a little bit afraid of that little lady. As you know, she was strong, consistent, and wonderful. Everyone who knew her was blessed to be in her presence. My family's thoughts and prayers are with yours during this time.

Dr. Ruth was the most caring, giving, genuine person I have ever known.
She has always blessed all of my family members with her heart of gold.
She was always smiling, positive and the queen of get well cards, I have saved several she has sent and recently called her to tell her how uplifting they were.
Prayers for comfort and peace for you all.

A positive influence on my life from a very young age to now. She always was there for my parents thru their personal trials thru their deaths. She was there for our triumphs and disasters. I will always remember her for her bright and generous outlook on life, her tender and loving ways, her encouragement. She was genuine Christian woman with no pretense. Her belief in Christ was her life and she was a shining example of her beliefs. I loved Dr Ruth a lot and I will miss her greatly. I know she is being received in Heaven right now by Mom And Dad and all those who loved her. That's got to be a lot of hugging going on.

We lived in South Korea as I grew up... our grocery stores didn't know the likes of Poptarts or certain candies from the USA. About every 6 months we'd get a CARE PACKAGE from Charleston,SC full of those American delicacies--- for a child, that was "heaven". I learned later in life that my folks had to pay fairly large duties to bring in the treats, but that's a special memory of my Aunt Ruth.

She was ever wise & willing to give any advice that was sought. I don't ever remember her without a smile or ever having a negative word for anyone.

She will be very sorely missed! Aunt Ruth: You made an indelible mark on my life; may I endeavour to serve the Lord w/ the fervour you had!

When I first arrived Dr. Ruth, she was one of the first faces that greeted me and loved on me as if I was her own. We talked almost everyday and in my last days with her we talked about Church and she would tell me about the library meetings and how she had to get them straight, lol.

Dr. Ruth and I worked on getting her IPhone back on track and I would remind her to make sure she checked to see if the email would come through and I told her that the email with the pin would come through around the time that she would be away at the wedding.

She told me that she would call me to let me know the outcome of the phone and etc. and that was the last we spoke. My heart is heavy right now and I know that I am not family but when someone touches you the way Dr. Ruth did you will never forget her.

If there is anything I can do please let me know!
