Ruth Duplantis Obituary

DUPLANTIS, Ruth Ruth E. Cone Knight Duplantis, 98, of Summerville, died July 17, 2005, at Life Care Center of Charleston. Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral services Tuesday, July 19, 2005, at 10 a.m., at First Baptist Church of Jedburg, 121 Brewer Road, Summerville. Visitation will be this evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the James A. Dyal Funeral Home, 303 S. Main Street, Summerville, S.C. Burial will be in The Boone Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Duplantis was born December 25, 1906, in Summerville. She was the daughter of the late Wesley Cone and Florence Carter Cone. She was educated in Summerville schools. She was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed square dancing. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jedburg. Survivors include: daughters, Arlene K. Sweat Rittenhouse and her husband Earl of Summerville, Elizabeth K. Hilton of Ridgeville; sons, Losse Knights and his wife Betty of Summerville, Floyd K. Hill and his wife Carolyn of Beaufort, Clyde Knight of St. George; 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son George Knight and a daughter Florence Knight. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Jedburg, 121 Brewer Road, Summerville, SC 29483 or Knightsville United Methodist Church, 1505 Central Ave., Summerville, SC 29483.
