Rosalina Bunao Obituary

Rosalina Isip Bunao SUMMERVILLE - Rosalina Isip Bunao lost her battle to COVID-19 on April 21, 2021. She was survived by her six children: Aurelia Verlie Bunao, Angelo Vonn Bunao, Vernarita Bunao-Weeks, Virgil Bunao, Vina Jackson, and Angela Bunao; their spouses; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and her brother, Rolando Salonga Isip, Sr. Her husband, Virgilio Espino Bunao, her parents, Victor Y. Isip and Adelaida R. Salonga Isip, and her siblings, Roger Salonga Isip and Divina Salonga preceded Lina in death. Lina was born on March 8, 1946 in Tondo, Manila, Philippines. In 1964, she and Virgilio married. Together they began their family and built their business empire, which most notably included B.I. Cotton House in Angeles City, Philippines. The establishment and success of B.I. Cotton House positively influenced several poor communities of the Philippines by providing specialized training and consistent work to its employees. Virgilio and Lina's world travels and Lina's eye for design propelled the success of the business ventures the duo initiated. In 1992, the pair incorporated Rosalina Baby Collections in Summerville, SC, USA. To the current day, Rosalina Baby Collections is a recognized brand in the heirloom children's clothing market. After Virgilio's death in 2002, Lina continued her international traveling in order to ensure her children were cared for and her businesses flourished. Although this was a lifestyle not many others would be able to sustain, she did so gracefully. Those around her witnessed how through her hard work and sacrifice, she achieved extraordinary success, which was always on behalf of her family and her employees. Not only was she successful as a business professional, she used her talents to bring people together as a party host extraordinaire. She will always be remembered for gathering her family and friends in her offices, in her Summerville, SC home, and at Villa Rosalina in Agno, Philippines. Annually, she planned and hosted large-scale Christmas parties and New Year's Eve celebrations. These events brought her joy and gave the people around her a chance to relax and build relationships with her and each other. Lina followed the teachings of the Catholic Church and was a member of Saint John the Beloved in Summerville, South Carolina. Over the years, Lina was presented many awards in recognition of her charity work as an active member of the Rotary Club of Angeles Culiat, and she was the Honored Lady of Charity in her Masonic organization Lily of the Valley Court No. 56. She embodied the virtue of charity and made a difference in many communities, especially in Aloleng, Agno, Pangasinan, Philippines. Additionally, her charitable work was seen when she opened Villa Rosalina to the Philippines Skyrunning Association's event that raised funds to send locals to the National Skyrunning Championship and other international events. Those who knew Lina understood her passion for all things beautiful. From the hand-smocked heirloom garments she produced to the sophisticated look of her wardrobe choices. From the beautiful ripe mangos of the Philippines she picked from her trees to the black sand beaches of Hawaii she cherished; she had a passion for all things beautiful. Her death is a tremendous loss to all who had the privilege and honor of knowing her and together we pray: Lord, keep her in your loving arms for eternity.
