I never met your Mom, but I talked to her on the phone. She encouraged me to do more painting. She had a way about her that could motivate even me. I will miss our chats on the phone. She was a valuable and thoughtful person.

Mommy,

We love and miss you. I am so glad I found you and Daddy after all of these years. A friend said when he lost his mother it left a hole in his heart. I say, when I found you, Daddy, Lloyd, Tammy, Janet, Jerome and the rest of the family, it healed the hole in mine. Thank you for teaching me what unconditional love feels like. I am so glad I have had you even if only for these three short years.

We who have been left behind
With so few words to say,
Cannot comprehend in mind
That you have left this way.
Your smile, your joy, your loving heart,
Your gentle loving touch,
The worldly wisdom you'd impart
To us has meant so much.
The times we've shared,
The celebrations, and the sorrows too,
It didn't matter what or where
Because we were with you.
With heavy hearts and many tears
We cannot understand
As we search through all our fears
For endings so unplanned.
We know with faith that often times
Plans made with hope and love
No matter how bold or sublime
Are changed by God above.
Today we take our first small step
Toward living without you
A journey we won't soon forget,
It's one that we'll pray through.
With all the love that you've sewn here
We'll find our way from pain
And hold each other with love so dear
Until we meet again.
