Roberta Kinard Obituary

Roberta Nell "Robbie" Kinard WENDELL, ID - It is with deep sadness I notify family, friends, and associates of the demise of Roberta Nell "Robbie" Kinard on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at home in Wendell, Idaho. Robbie, a native of Charleston, South Carolina was born on May 24, 1971, the only child of Willard Grady Kinard, Jr. and Cynthia Nell Rigdon Kinard. Her death is a result of complications of colon cancer; her strong will and courageous war with this enemy lasted over 3 years; through this battle her strength lie from within; her smile, laugh and humor was ever constant. Robbie attended Sonoma Valley High School in Sonoma, California, graduating in 1989; upon graduating, she returned to her beloved Charleston, South Carolina and family there. She resided and worked there for many years, her last employment being with Chembion Environmental, Inc. Being very creative and talented, she crafted many beautiful items with sea shells, collected from the beaches of the Charleston area and Jacksonville Beach, Florida; scrap booking; cross stitching; candle making and a desire to know her past which began her search for ancestors. She shared her love with family, friends, and especially her pets; dachshunds Elizabeth and Karma; and cats Girlie and Teensie Jane. She is survived by her Mother, Cynthia (Step-Father Jim) McCarley of Wendell, Idaho; Aunt Donna (Uncle Steve) Gonzales; Cousins Melanie, Courtney and Grady; Second Cousins Taylor and Frank; Uncle Michael Kinard; Cousin Kelsey; Aunt Lorna Roberts; Cousins Erin and Robert, all of whom reside in North Charleston, South Carolina; Great Aunt Alberta Sapp; Cousin Debbie of Elizabeth City, North Carolina; Cousin Kathy Gordon of Smokes, South Carolina; Aunt Susan and Cousin Hannah Kinard. She was preceded in death by Grandparents Roberta and Inslee Rigdon and Willard and Lucille Kinard; Great Uncle Ed Sapp; Uncle Roger Rigdon; Uncle Bobby Kinard; Great Aunt Frances; and many family members she met through her ancestral search for her roots. At my daughter's request, there will be no services in Idaho. This delightful and wonderful child is missed. Gently and compassionately, her request for cremation has been carried out by Demaray Funeral Service - Wendell Chapel. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting the obituary link at www.demarayfuneralservice.com. Visit our guestbook at www.postandcourier.com/ deaths
