Robert Glenn Obituary

Dr. Robert B. Glenn SHELDON, SC - Dr. Robert B. "Buzz" Glenn, beloved husband of Jane Hollis "Holli" McCord Glenn, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, March 8, 2025 at his home in Sheldon under hospice care. He was 78. Buzz was born October 2, 1946, a son of the late John Wingfield Glenn, Sr. and the late Mary Ellen Regan Wingfield. He was a 1968 graduate of The Citadel. He always said it was a great place to graduate from, and he formed friendships that lasted his entire life. MUSC Dental School was his next stop. He graduated in 1973, and began practicing dentistry first in Mount Pleasant and Summerville, before moving to Walterboro and finding his home. Amee, Harper and Rachel, as well as his wonderful patients, made his days at the office something he looked forward to everyday. Buzz served as Chamber of Commerce Director from 1994-2000. He was a 1994 member of Leadership Colleton, and he was a lifetime member of the SC Waterfowl Association. Buzz loved the Lowcountry, the changing of the seasons, and the salt water marshes. He loved all types of boating, but his favorite times were spent on a sailboat. He hunted deer, ducks and geese and spent many memorable times with friends in pursuit of putting food on the table. His creativity came through with his wood working projects, and if he needed to relax, he jumped on his tractor. In addition to his wife, Holli, he is survived by his brother-in-law, Ronald "Ronnie" Anthony Nettles, and by his sister-in-law, Cynythia "Cindy" McCord Nettles. He leaves behind his brothers, John "Jack" Wingfield, Jr. (Patti), Kevin Anthony Glenn, Gerard "Gerry" William Glenn, Paul Andrew Glenn (Suzanne), and Michael Francis Glenn (Ruthie). Buzz loved his family and especially spending time with his many nieces and nephews. Those times gave him great joy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Paul Glenn, and by his sister, Mary Ellen "Jill" Darmer. Memorials made be made in his memory to The Connie Maxwell Home in Greenwood South Carolina, to Samaritan's Purse for the victims of Hurricane Helene, or to the charity of one's choice. In accordance with his wishes, a gathering of family and friends will be held at his home at a time and date to be announced later. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is assisting the family with arrangements.
