Rita Corbett Obituary

Rita was a beautiful, caring, loving person as well as a loving wife and mother to her family. She was very funny and sweet to me while I had the pleasure of working with her at Pruential. I was in shock to read as I was just casually strolling through the obituaries and came across her name. I will miss her personality and her smile and everytime I have cottage cheese and fruit....I will toast to her.

Rita had a most loving and generous heart, always having a kind word on her lips and a smile on her face. You couldn't help but be infected by the way she lived her life -- with so much adventure, joy and generosity. She is a wonderful example to her friends of how we should live our lives. Rita, you will forever be in our hearts.

God knows I will miss her so. We seldom find a friend that is closer then most family members but my Rita and I had that special sister bond. We connected 20 years ago and couldn't have been closer had we been born twins. I would have done anything to keep here here on earth but when the pain got unbearable I loved her enough to let her go. It hurt so much but I know God had bigger plans for her. Probably the offical greeter. I can hear her now. Welcome, GOOD MORNING, everything is beautiful. No one loved life more then our beautiful red head.Rest in Peace Sweetheart, I will love you forever. Momma Rita was such an honest inspiration to me and all around her. She was a leader in so many ways --- spiritually, and otherwise. I'm quite sure the other angels in Heaven have a new friend now. I will miss her always.....Rob.

Rita was one of the first people I met after moving to Summerville in 1990.... back in the Turtle Deli days :-) She was so vibrant, caring and invested in the community! (Not to mention oh-so-glamorous!) My deepest condolences to all who will miss her...

Dear Bill and family, Mike and I just learned of Rita's passing and wish to express our sympathy. It is such a sad time, but Rita left many, many wonderful memories. May God bless you all.

Bill and family, You and Rita were such good neighbors of my parents for many years. I'm sad to hear of her passing and extend my deepest sympathy to you.

Rita was a fiesty Lady! I liked that about her.. There was never a dull moment when she was around. I know times like this can be very hard but rest assure that if you are a child of God, you will see her beautiful smile again.

Bill, Jennifer and I will so miss Rita but she will always be in our hearts. She was so full of life and taught so many of us that we are not to waste a moment. We so loved working with her at Flowertown Players as she was such a wonderful actress. Her joy always would be the light of any room. We still see her standing at the counter of the Turtle greeting each patron with a smile. There are those that touch our lives, some we feel their presence for a moment then there are those like Rita that become a part of our souls. The poet Morley once wrote, "there were days my tender elf, when you were poetry itself." A great poem has been written and will live as long as we do. God Bless.

Bill, What a coincidence that I just saw you and Rita a couple weeks ago. She had such a positive attitude and was her usual bubbly self. I was shocked to hear that she had passed so soon after seeing you both. She was in my prayers and I know that God did not want her to suffer anymore. I will keep you all in my prayers. She will be missed by many.

Bill,Julie and Glenn.I can't put in words how sorry I'am to hear about RIta.You are in my thoughts and prayers.Evan though I haven't seen Rita much the last few years I have thought of her often.I did see her about four weeks ago and we did ketchup on things.So many people will miss Rita,she touched so many lives.we will keep you in our prayers.

Rita will always be cherished. She and Bill have been very dear to me (like parents) for many years. Her warmth touched many lives and her vivaciousness charmed everyone she met. What more could you ask for when leaving your legacy?
