Richard Hawkins Obituary

Richard Hawkins N. Charleston - Mr. Richard S. Hawkins, age 91, of N. Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021. Richard was born December 1, 1929 to the late Edward A. and Harriet Helen Heim Hawkins. Richard was pre-deceased by his wife, Edna Roberta Campbell Hawkins, daughter-in-law, Sharon Hawkins, sisters, Joyce Hayburn and Cornelia R. Hawkins, brothers, Randall L. Hawkins, James B. Hawkins and Robert M. Hawkins. He is survived by his sons, Rickter Lee Hawkins (Stella Moore) and Raymond Stewart, both of North Charleston, sisters, Laverne B. Hollis of Chillicothe, Ohio, Donna M. Babb (William L.) of Loveland, Colorado, and Maureen A. Ruff (Edward C.) of Dayton, Ohio., brother, Edward M. Hawkins (Sue A.) of Helenwood, Tennessee. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great- granddaughter. Mr. Hawkins was a Project Engineer for Leatherwood Electronics & MFC. He served our country in the Navy for 25 years and became Master Chief. Member of the Charleston County School District, Technology Division, Garrett Academy of Technology Board of Governors. He was a member of the Park Circle Presbyterian Church and also a lifetime member of the Navy League and the Fleet Reserve. A visitation will be held at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 11 am to 1 pm. A Life Well Celebrated Service will be at 1pm in the funeral home chapel.
