Rhonda Meyer Obituary

Rhonda Huggins Meyer N. CHARLESTON - Rhonda Huggins Meyer passed away surounded by her loved ones Thursday, June 14, 2018. Rhonda was born October 8, 1947, at Baker Hospital in Charleston, SC, after her parents, Sammy Commander and Sadie Parker Huggins, had moved to North Charleston, SC, from Sumter, SC during the war effort. Rhonda came from a long history of South Carolina lowcountry founders, men and women who settled this great state and as a result she was an elegant southern woman. Rhonda attended school at Ben Tillman Graded and North Charleston High School, where she excelled in creating life long lasting friendships and truly loved her experience growing up in the close knit community surrounding the Chicora and Park Circle areas of her youth. Rhonda and her family were charter members of Cooper River Baptist Church in Park Circle. Rhonda attended Winthrop College, married Neal Frederick Meyer and raised her children with a sincere, loving and faith based touch guided by the lightheartedness and mirth that came so easily to her. She lived for the beach, going out in the boat, sailing with friends, traveling with her daughter and creating beautiful homes for her family. She resided all over the Charleston area before returning to North Charleston in 2012. Rhonda developed into a talented interior stylist and loved her career in furniture sales at Morris Sokol on King Street. She was dearly loved and will remain in the memories and hearts of all who were fortunate to have known her. She is survived by her son and his wife, Mark Frederick and Kathleen Lucille Smith Meyer; her daughter, Parker Lee Meyer; her grandchildren, Mark Frederick and Kabler Colhoun Meyer, Jr., Murray Lucille Meyer and Morgan Reed Meyer; and her great-grandchild, Mark Frederick Meyer III; her brother and his wife, Sammy Marvin and Brenda Britt Huggins; her brother-in-law and his wife, Harold Donald and Laron Stone; and her nephew and his wife, Samuel Austin and Birgit Bordelon Huggins. Rhonda will be interred at Carolina Memorial Gardens along with her parents and her older sister, Kenneth Evelyn Huggins Stone, on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at 2 o'clock in the afternoon; and her memorial service will be held at Cooper River Baptist Church in North Charleston on June 30, 2018, at 12 o'clock in the afternoon. Memorial gifts may be sent to Metanoia, 2005 Reynolds Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29405. Visit our guestbook at www.legacy.com/obituaries/ charleston

So sad to hear of Rhonda's passing. I spent many happy times in the Huggins household many years ago. We lived in the neighborhood and Kenny and I graduated in 62. Sending prayers to all family members for peace.
