Raymond Miehe Obituary

Raymond Glenn Miehe CHARLESTON - Raymond Glenn Miehe, 93, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2017. He was born on Saturday, August 4, 1923 in Dubuque, IA, son of the late Della Bevan Miehe and the late Raymond G. Miehe. Ray served in WWII in the Navy. Ray worked for John Deere, was a member of the American Legion and the Masons. Ray enjoyed traveling with family, camping during summer vacations and one of his hobbies was making frames for Carmen's many paintings. He was a member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church. Besides his parents, Ray is predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Jacobs and his brother, Bevan (Ben) Miehe. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Carmen Ingwersen Miehe, of Charleston, SC; three sons: Bill and his wife Phyllis, of Bonneau Beach, SC, Ben and his wife, Jenny, of Charleston, SC, and Bruce and his wife, Melody, of Scappoose, OR; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. The family is planning a Celebration of Ray's life at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be viewed or submitted online at www.mcalister-smith.com.
