Betty & Family, I just heard of the "Love of your life" passing. I have so many fond memories of times we spent together, many years ago. Ray was such a talented man. I marveled when we visited the home he built in Moncks Corner. You're in my thoughts and prayers. Love to all the family...

Betty,
Words can't express the sorrow I feel after reading of Ray's passing today. You and he literally made my sorrow turn into joy by teaching me how to dance before George came into my life. Ray was always so gracious to help us single women enjoy life again and you were so kind to want him to help us learn to dance. We had such fun at the Elks and other dance locations. Y'all were the happiest couple I ever met and I know Ray loved you more than anything. Just know that you are left with many happy memories and so many people who love you.

I can not remember not knowing my life long friend Ray. He taught me how to tie my shoes my first day in school. We played Cowboys and Indians as kids. He always wore a black cowboy hat and a black vest, even as a kid. After we were both young men and we didn't see each other for many years, when I finally ran into him again, There he was, the same old cowboy from the pass. black vest, boots and Betty, line dancing. If there was ever a man that loved life, this was Ray. Betty, his kids, grand kids and family always came first, and he told me once that my last name was different, but I was family.
I'm gonna miss my friend and Lord knows I hated this to have happen. But he fought with all his might to stay for the people he loved the most. But he is suffering no more and for that I am so greatful.
To Betty and all of his family I can only say that Ray will be sadly missed by all that he has ever touched. I loved him like a brother. I don't want you all to be sad to long, because Ray wouldn't want you too. When he left this place knowing he was loved, that's what meant the most to him.
So rest my friend and when we meet again, Don't forget, Black Hat, Black Vest and Cowboy Boots.

Ray was kind and thoughtful, he loved his best friend and wife Betty and adored his family. Through the years he made friendships that have stood the test of time. We celebrate that the battle is done and he has moved to his place in heaven, his human suffering has ended and is now glorified and watching over us.
