Ray Cheatham Obituary

Ray Cheatham SUMMERVILLE - Ray Cheatham, 84, of Summerville, South Carolina, died peacefully at Summerville Medical Center on February 17th, 2024. He was born in Columbia, Tennesse, where he started his young family. After working at Monsanto, he moved his family to Nashville, Tennesse, and then to Raleigh, North Carolina, where he started his cabinet business. Later he continued work in Hilton Head, South Carolina, and then retired in Summerville, South Carolina. He was a hard worker and continued to work as long as his health permitted. Ray was a good and decent man with a generous spirit. His family and friends loved and respected him. He enjoyed fishing and sports. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Shirley Paul Cheatham; Daughter, Tammy Cash; and his sister, Cathey Cheatham Mayberry. As well as 8 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sons, Anthony (Tony) and Jeff; and one Granddaughter, Tiffany. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Agape hospice care who supported Ray during the last year of his life. A memorial service will be held at Simplicity on Saturday March 23rd, from 2pm until 4pm. 281 Treeland Dr., Ladson SC 29456.

Uncle Ray you were always loving and patient. So many sweet memories I have of hanging out with the family in Raleigh as a child. Later visiting you all in SC. Your smile and gentle laugh. Unending kindness. You are forever loved.
