Philip Blacklocke Obituary

Philip Blacklocke Summerville - Philip J Blacklocke, 71, of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022. Born on March 10, 1951 in Tokyo, Japan, he was the son of (the late) Marie Blacklocke (McGovern) and John Blacklocke. Philip graduated from Bishop England High School and then attended the College of Charleston, where he earned his degree in Political Science. He then attended Webster University, where he received 2 Master's in Business and Finance and became an adjunct professor at different colleges around the Lowcountry. When he was not watching football, Philip loved spending time with his family making memories. Philip is preceded in death by John Blacklocke (Father), Marie Blacklocke (Mother), Nancy Varn (Sister), Frank Blacklocke (Brother) and Sean Blacklocke (Nephew). Philip is survived by Mitzi K. (Huff) Blacklocke, his two children, Mark Blacklocke (Rebekah) and Kellie Cantrell (Ryan) and his four grandchildren; Avery Blacklocke, Claire Blacklocke, Brett Blacklocke and Abby Cantrell. He is also survived by brothers; John Blacklocke (Eileen), David Blacklocke (Rena), Theresa Blacklocke (Frank), two sisters; Julie Norris (Ricky) and Sandra Smith (Dan),several nieces and nephews and a lifetime of friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 26, 2022 from 5 PM to 7 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral & Cremation Goose Creek, 869 St. James Ave. in Goose Creek, South Carolina. The service will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 11 AM to 12 Noon at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 510 St. James Ave. in South Carolina. The burial will be held at Ridge Baptist Church in Summerville, South Carolina at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the charity of your choice in his honor.
