My condolescences to the Wright & Shaw families. i did not know Ricky personally but he was one of the servicemen we sent holiday boxes to for his unit. His name stands out because the post office always had problems with his military address. But we got them through to him and his fellow soldiers. May he rest in peace. Thanking him for serving our country! Julie Deibel (St.andrews Church, Mt. Pleasant, SC)

My husband and I were boarding the plane from Denver to Atlanta when I noticed from my window the Army Honor Guard on the tarmack and the car drive up to deliver Ricky to our plane for transport. All Delta personel nearby were at attention as well and it was all so moving. I saw through tears when he was moving onto the palne his name on the container and I knewI i had to find ya'll to say how special the ceremony was. The Captain informed us on board of the event and mentioned his escort that I had seen board the plane but he was so far ahead of us I could not speak to him. In Atlanta it was so special when Ricky came off the plane with all at attention and the escort saluting. We all waited to exit so Ricky could go first onto the Delta flag painted cart. I cannot explain how moving it was. We too lost our oldest son an Archeologist at the University of Florida almost three years ago to a malignant brain tumor so I know your grief. Our thoughts are with you and Ricky's whole family.

PFC Shaw,

You will be truly missed. Today I glanced over to the PT formation and it hit me that you wasnt there. GOD has called you home. My greatest memory of you will always be when we were walking around post for PT and we were all joking. Mitchell said something slick to me and I told him he reminded me so much of KIDD from house party. I then looked at you and said that you reminded me of PLAY... You just looked at me and started laughing.... From then on everytime I saw you, house party always came to mind... Although family and friends are deeply hurt and saddened, we all know you are in a much better place... PFC Shaw, STEAD FAST AND LOYAL... LONESTARS

Hello, Ricky and my son were best buddies! Larry, is takeing this very hard! He and Ricky were joined at the hip, he was always talking about something he and Shaw were doing or going to do. They went to lunch every day together! He told me last night how happy Ricky was the last month, he was so excited about comming home! I dont have the words to say to make things easier for you right now, but know there are alot of people in Okla praying for you and your family. I pray God gives you peace that passes all understanding! Larry said he got to meet you and your daughter at the hospital. He said was so hard to hug you knowing that Ricky was gone. He truely loved your son!

Shirley, words can't even express how I feel about the passing of your son Ricky. I felt like he was one of my own when we lived as neighbors. GOD has a job for him to do in HEAVEN that is why he is gone. Just keep him in your heart and he will always be there for you through your good and bad times. Ricky is your protector. My heart is so full for you and your family.

Psalm 18:2
The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
Then always know, "If he brings you to it, he will bring you through it."
