My dearest friend, Danny Doyle, served as Mrs. Middleton´s chauffer for over 40 years. During this period of time, I had the honor of joining Danny and Payne on a few trips between Manhattan and Manhasset. She was delightful to be with and I witnessed firsthand her sense of humor and zest for life. I extend my condolences to the family. Lou Theodore, East Williston, New York.

Payne was my mother’s dearest and oldest friend. She and Fay traveled to Europe together and forged a friendship that lasted until Payne’s passing. We will miss her wit, her ability to treat everyone equally, her directness and her love of life. Our hearts go out to all her family in this difficult time. We send hugs.
