Evelyn Freeman
Jersey City, NJ - Mrs. Evelyn Freeman (née Grant) was born 10/29/30 in Charleston, SC and passed away peacefully on 03/28/25. She attended Henry P. Archer School in the '40's and for some time worked at Magnolia Cemetery on Meeting Street in the '50's. She was a lifelong resident of Bayonne, NJ and for the last few years was a resident of Peace Care at St. Ann in Jersey City. She was married to Paul Freeman on July 9, 1966 until his passing on 12/16/12. She was the youngest daughter of Joseph and Rena Grant. She is the mother of Bernice and Robert and was preceded by Harold and Delores Grant. She also preceded her siblings William, Steve and Joseph Grant as well as Mabel Bowens, Caroline Sephis, Alethia Broughton and CeliaAnn Robinson who were all also born and raised in Charleston. She was a grandmother to Sonora, Cordelia, John Alexander, Jiovanni, Jermaine, Craig and Malik Grant. She passed away peacefully at 94 and is greatly missed every day.
