I am thankful to say I had the pleasure of meeting her around December at St. Francis Hospital. When she sat down and began talking to someone else, I was drawn to her. I asked who she was ...Patti Cake, Patti Cake lol! I am thankful I got to meet her, hear her story and to thank her for the many years she gave ARBC material to sew pillows for breast care patients. She is definitely someone who blessed a lot of lives. May God comfort you in your sorrow.

About ten of us wanted to start an Environmental Club at Middleton, and Mrs. Meeks enthusiastically stepped up to the plate to sponsor us. Our main concern was Folly Beach. I'll always love her for that. Class of 1995

So sorry to read of her passing! Ms. Meeks was an amazing teacher! She definitely passed on her love of science to her students! Believe me ... back in '85-'86 we tore up the science wing but we learned and had fun! Rest easy! MHS Class of 1986!

I truly enjoyed my years at Middleton High School working so closely with Mrs. Meeks. She was an incredible, knowledgeable teacher who had a passion for the sciences. She is one of my many fond memories of being a Razorback. My thoughts and prayers are with Bill, Jack, and Donna.

Mrs. Meeks was the best! I had her for homeroom/Environmental Studies at Middleton. Everyone loved her. She was funny and engaging. She got her students excited about the subjects they were studying. She loved the earth and was far ahead of her time as an avid recycler. We went on field trips to the dump and the recycling plant. She was a brave lady to take all of us crazy kids on those field trips!!!! But we loved her for it and will miss her terribly. I was so sad when I saw the news. I have to work this weekend in South Florida, but if not I would be at the funeral. Mrs. Meeks, as I take my recycle bin to the street you will always be in my thoughts!!!
